Misunderstanding about bone and joint pain causes most Vietnamese people to suffer from serious illness, wasting time and money on treatment but ineffectively. So how to understand the pain correctly and find an alternative treatment method that does not require medication?

Over 80% of Vietnamese people misunderstand about bone and joint pain

Pain is a protective mechanism of the body by alerting us to damage. However, pain can also make activities difficult, change lifestyle, affect a person’s work and independence.

Depending on the level of pain, pain is divided into:
• Acute pain:  Acute pain is pain that tells you that you have been injured. It usually starts suddenly and does not last long. When the injury heals, the pain will disappear.
• Chronic pain:  Pain that is severe and long-lasting, often related to dysfunction or disease.

When experiencing pain, over 80% of Vietnamese people misunderstand it. With mild or dull pain, Vietnamese people tend to endure and ignore it. When the pain becomes severe and intense, patients often take painkillers without seeing a doctor. Therefore, not only is the root cause of the pain not treated, but the patient is also at risk of suffering from side effects from painkillers and other diseases such as stomach ulcers, liver failure, kidney failure, etc.

When the pain is treated and is subsiding, Vietnamese people easily mistakenly think that they are cured, so they tend to stop the doctor’s treatment halfway. But in fact, the disease has not been cured and there is a risk of it progressing to a chronic disease, which can easily cause complications and is difficult to treat later.

The consequence of misunderstanding pain is that by the time it is discovered, the bone and joint disease is already in a severe stage, treatment is ineffective, and is time-consuming and costly!

2. Understand pain correctly to take the right action

Pain is controlled by the nervous system and is a very complex process. Pain occurs when there is an external or internal stimulus that activates sensory nerve cells to send messages to the brain through the spinal cord. Therefore, the nerves may not signal pain. So even if you do not have pain, you should have regular health screenings to detect the disease at an early stage for successful treatment.

Any small pain can potentially lead to illness. So see a doctor for examination, detection and treatment of the disease at the golden stage. When the pain is severe and unbearable, it means your body is in danger. Do not use drugs on your own, see a specialist for proper treatment, minimizing unpredictable complications.

Each person has a different pain threshold. Enduring pain for too long can increase the pain threshold, when the disease is detected in a severe stage, the treatment is less effective, and is costly in time and money.
Understanding pain correctly means understanding pain relievers correctly. Because pain relievers have a mechanism to trick the nervous system into stopping transmitting pain signals to the brain, the effect of the drug is only to treat the symptoms of the disease, not to treat the root cause of the disease.

3. Can joint pain be treated without medication?

The answer is yes. In the US, chiropractic is chosen by over 75% of Americans because of its ability to cure pain at the root WITHOUT MEDICATION. In Vietnam, this method is also gradually becoming more popular.

At Dr. Allen Chiropractic, chiropractors move misaligned vertebrae back into place, releasing pressure on surrounding nerves and ligaments, thereby curing the pain at its root. At the same time, they restore the structure of the spine, activate the body’s self-healing mechanism, and prevent disease progression. In addition, the regimen combines high-tech physical therapy from the US and intensive rehabilitation to quickly relieve pain, heal inflammation, increase muscle strength, and restore the patient’s mobility.

Every small pain can potentially hide serious illnesses, see a doctor for screening, detection and treatment as soon as possible!
